Payroll for workers employed in building State Hall, 1839-1841.

This series contains 2 volumes listing job category (e.g. carpenter, laborer, stone cutter); names of individuals performing job; number of days worked for a specific period; and wages per day and amount paid to worker. A law of 1834 authorizing the construction of the new State Hall gave the trustees (one of whom was the Comptroller) authorization to "cause the building to be erected."
